The Foundation
Greeting friends, lover of jazz, and supporters of International Jazz Day,this day was created back in 2011 by Unesco and Herbie Hancock. International Jazz Day AZ was born 2012, because of the efforts the founder here in Arizona, DR. William “Doc” Jones, Music Educator/Jazz Musician this “Real Jazz” festival has turned into a signature event “The Official International Jazz Day AZ” that will take place every April 30th in downtown Phoenix. To assure that this International Jazz Festival will grow as it have in New Orleans, Newport, and South Africa Jazz Festival for many year to come we have created the “International Jazz Day AZ Foundation” registers as a nonprofit 501-C3 with the mission to use this annual festival to bring worldwide attention to AZ and Puerto Peñasco Mexico to better our image around the world through the Art of “Real Jazz”.
