The highly anticipated  International Jazz day Jazz Festival in Rocky Point was a total success. The 1st Int’l Jazz day annual festival  brought together hundreds of jazz lovers from  Arizona for two days of jazz performances by award-winning artists. The festival took place April 22 – 23, 2016, with events at El Pinacate & Melacon.

This year’s line-up  feature the best in jazz and was expected to draw over 3,000 festivalgoers to Rocky Point to watch artists perform at 7:00PM and it did.  This year’s roster featured Universal Recording Artist Nayo Jones, Carlos Rivas, Mario Abney,“One of the joys of producing the first International Jazz Day Jazz Festival in Rocky Point, was getting to bring in name talent like Carlos Rivas, Kerry Campbell, Richard Scott, while also creating a space for our local jazz musicians to shine, said Doc Jones, Executive Director at International Jazz Day AZ Foundation. “Our goal is to keep growing this festival so Puerto Peñasco will becomes as well known for jazz as it is in New Orleans.
