No hemos publicado desde hace tiempo, pero otro Festival de Jazz de Alamos ha ido y venido en un torbellino de actividades. Es un año de planificación que termina en un fin de semana emocionante, agotador, abrumador … no hay palabras suficientes para describir cómo funciona el proceso para llevar cada festival a Alamos Sonora México cada año.

Este año me sentí honrado de tener a la Filler Big Band de Navojoa bajo la dirección de Jesus Cota, que se presentó en un gran concierto. Esos estudiantes músicos no solo interpretaron algunos gráficos de nivel universitario, sino que tenían a una joven trompetista que cantaba en inglés, me pregunto si ella incluso hablaba inglés. Debo decir que era muy buena. Estamos empezando a planear el 4º Festival Anual de Jazz de Alamos, el 5 y 6 de marzo de 2020, y espero que Jesús Cota y su Filler Big Band regresen el próximo año

We have not posted in a while, but another Alamos Jazz Festival has come and gone in a whirlwind of activity. It’s a year’s worth of planning that ends in a weekend that is exhilarating, exhausting, overwhelming … there are not enough words to describe how the process works to bring each festival to Alamos Sonora Mexico each year.

This year I was honored to have the Filler Big Band from Navojoa under the direction of Jesus Cota come and put on a great concert. Those student musicians not only played some university level charts they had one young lady trumpet player that sung in English, I wonder if she even speak English. I must say she was very good. We are beginning to plan for the 4th Annual Alamos Jazz Festival March 5th & 6, 2020 and I’m looking forward to Jesus Cota and his Filler Big Band to come back again next year ..
