Doc met with Alamos Presidente Victor Manuel Balderrama Cardenas

By Thursday evening, he was able to attract musicians from the city to join him for a jazz fest in the Plaza of the city.  It was a great success, youth and adults were literally dancing in the plaza.   Doc also met with Alamos Presidente Salas, the city manager, and owners of local hotels to solicit their input on having an International Jazz Day in Alamos in the Spring of 2017. He was also able to locate several very good potential sites for holding the Jazz Day events in Alamos.  Alamos is a perfect location for an International Jazz Day.  It is a “Pueblo Magico” city of Mexico and host the annual the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Festival (FAOT) each January.  The holding of an International Jazz Day in the Spring of each year will add to the city’s reputation as a Pueblo Magico city and as a cultural center for the State of Sonora. As a result of the encouragement of the citizens and leaders of Alamos, Doc is creating a committee of local citizens, members of Scottsdale Sister Cities, and Jazz musicians from New Orleans to assist him in the planning of an International Jazz Day in April, 2017 in Alamos.
